Quaich (noun)

Pronounced: /kweɪx/

A traditional Scottish drinking vessel, typically shallow with two handles, symbolising friendship, trust, and celebration. Historically used to offer a welcoming drink of whisky or wine, quaichs are often gifted to mark weddings, christenings, and significant life events.

How long does shipping take? +

Our standard shipping (Royal Mail Tracked 48) usually takes around 2-3 days. We offer an upgraded shipping service, (Royal Mail Tracked 24), which takes 1-2 days. These timings are just estimates, however.
If you need your item urgently, we also offer Next Working Day shipping, which will guarantee your item will arrive next day, Mon-Sat. You will need to be in to sign for your order in this case.

If you place your order before 4pm on a weekday, it will always get shipped the same day.

How is the engraving done? +

All our engravings are done using a state-of-the-art laser engraver right in our London studio. This technology allows for precise and clean engravings on various materials, ensuring high-quality results every time.

Are your tankards and quaichs made from real pewter? +

Yes. All items in this collection are crafted from high-quality lead-free pewter which is safe for drinking use

Can I add engraving to any tankard or quaich? +

For tankards, engraving is typically placed on the front panel. For quaichs, it is usually engraved on the inner bowl. The product page will show the available engraving areas, but if you get in touch we can often engrave in other areas.

How long does engraving take? +

Engraved orders do not usually add any extra time to an order. If you order before 4pm, we will almost always be able to ship the item the same day, with shipping taking 2-3 days for our standard service.

If you choose Next Day shipping, we will prioritise your engraving and ensure the item arrives next day if you order before 4pm.

Will engraving fade or wear off? +

No. Engraving is done with a laser into the pewter, so it will not wash off or fade. It will give a deep, clear engraving that will last. Normal care will keep it looking crisp for years.

How do I clean a pewter tankard or quaich? +

Hand-wash only with mild soap and warm water. Avoid dishwashers, abrasive pads, and harsh chemicals, which can dull the finish. You can polish the outside using an off-the-shelf pewter polish such as Brasso.

Do tankards/quaichs come gift boxed? +

Yes. All our tankards and quaichs come in a presentation box suitable for gifting. If a product has a different packaging type, it will be shown in the description.

Can you engrave logos or custom designs? +

Yes - logo engraving is possible on many styles. Get in touch with the artwork for a quote and confirmation of compatibility. We are also able to send a proof prior to engraving to ensure you're happy with how it looks.
