Collection: Traditional Cufflinks

All our cufflinks that are above the legal hallmarking weight will contain a UK hallmark. This limit is 7.78g for sterling silver and 1g for 9ct gold. You may also see other marks such as .925, or .375. These all relate to the metal purity - they aren't a hall mark as such, but simply show the purity of the metal. '375' is found on some 9ct Gold items and refers to '37.5% pure gold' - the definition of 9ct Gold. '925' is found on on some sterling silver cufflinks and refers to '92.5% pure silver' - the definition of sterling silver.

You may see a few = different symbols in our hallmarks. These are: the sponsor’s mark, millesimal fineness mark and the assay office mark. 'JB', the sponsors mark, refers to us - our parent company Jewellerybox ltd.
The fineness mark, is likely either '375' or '925' for our cufflinks, as most are either 9ct gold, or sterling silver. Finally, the assay office mark - this refers to the Assay Office that hallmarked the item. We use the Edinburgh assay office, which has a stamp of a three-towered castle. There are Assay offices in Sheffield, Birmingham and London which all have different stamps.

All cufflinks from Sayers London come in our lined navy gift boxes, with silver embossed logo inside the lid. These are perfect for gifting and storage of your cufflinks. They also come with a polishing cloth to keep them looking shiny.

Many of our cufflinks allow some space for engraving. On our product page, if an item allows for engraving, there will be an 'Add Personalisation' button. Clicking this will display a small form to choose a typeface (font) and add the text you'd like. As well as a choice of typefaces, we offer special monogram designs restricted to 2-3 characters. If you have specific requests (a certain layout, an emoji, or a symbol you'd like), there's room to add that to the form, or you can get in touch to check what's possible.

All our engraving is carried out by state-of-the art laser engraving machines, which give a deep, long-lasting readable finish.

In some cases we can do this. Cufflinks are small items, so we are limited by space and you may struggle to see the detail on more intricate designs. However, we can engrave some images for a small fee - crests, logos, simple line drawings, finger prints are all popular - please get in touch.

Cufflinks generally require a 'French Cuff' - a shirt cuff that folds back on itself, with holes and no buttons. For less formal situations, there are also 'Convertible cuffs', which have an extra hole beside the button, and allow you to either use the button or a cufflink.

For regular shirts which just have a button, you will need to purchase a cufflink adapter which allows you attach a cufflink and hide the button. These are a cost-effective and simple option to turn any shirt into one that accepts cufflinks.

This depends on two things - the occasion and the colour of your outfit and accessories. Broadly speaking, matching your cufflinks to your watch, belt buckle, tie pin, money clip, or ring is a good rule.

The next part, is the colour of your suit. Silver tends to complement navy suits, whereas gold looks great with warmer hues such as browns and creams. Black tuxedos always look good with gold cufflinks.

Finally, you want your cufflinks to match the occasion. An understated, professional look in a work environment calls for sterling silver's cool tones, while weddings and black tie glitz suit gold perfectly.

Our standard shipping (Royal Mail Tracked 48) usually takes around 2-3 days. We offer an upgraded shipping service, (Royal Mail Tracked 24), which takes 1-2 days. These timings are just estimates, however.
If you need your item urgently, we also offer Next Working Day shipping, which will guarantee your item will arrive next day, Mon-Sat. You will need to be in to sign for your order in this case.

If you place your order before 4pm on a weekday, it will always get shipped the same day.
